Masterson’s Lounge, positioned in the vibrant core of Moonee Ponds, advertises itself as a stylish, alternative venue , but my latest trip at this establishment resulted in an experience I’d rather forget . While the bar may look welcoming at first glance , what I encountered behind its entrance was disgraceful and unfit for any venue.

From the moment I stepped inside , it was evident that cleanliness was not a priority at this bar . The ground was covered in grime , and a foul smell of uncleaned spills and neglected washrooms permeated the entire pub. Smelling a mixture of excrement , decay and illness . The counter , which should be the main attraction of any pub, was cluttered with dirty glasses and trash that looked like it hadn’t been touched in ages . The toilet was in even a truly awful state— spilling over , with a cracked flush mechanism and walls stained in what I can only assume was feces.
